Clos Rougeard, in Saumur Champigny near Chace, made Cabernet Franc into a vin de garde long before the Loire was fashionable, fermenting in old cement vats and aging in barrel for elegant, ageworthy reds. Le Clos is the estate's blended Cabernet Franc cuve, drawn from clay limestone plots in Saumur Champigny. The 2007 was a cooler, lighter vintage, so this is a
