This is the setting for a mountain railroad that climbs from deep within the Willamette Valley to nearly 5,000 feet above sea level at Cascade Summit. Part 1: The Long Grade, begins at Eugene Yard and heads railroad south into the foothills of the Cascades. A forty mile 1. 8% grade between
